Mad Titans Win Inaugural College Game

The ASA Manhattan Mad Titans won their first ever game tonight with a final score of 91-59 over The New School Narwhal's at Infinity Gym. In what was a lively and packed crowd, the Mad Titans did not disappoint. This crowd got to witness Joseph Hicks score the first 2 points in ASA Manhattan history with a pull up jump shot assisted by Salim Fofana.  That jump shot provided an early lead that the Mad Titans never relinquished.  The New School's, Mitchell Stanford, kept the game close with 13 first half points.  Yet, a key block by Cole Grant,  crafty offense by Emmanuel Mayfield (16 first half points), and Tawaun Bryan's  spark off the bench all helped the Mad Titans gain control as they went into the half up 50-28.

The second half left off where the first half ended with some key defensive stops leading to transition points by Mayfield (28 for the game) and Salim Fofana.  Fofana had 11 of his 13 in the second half.  Shiva Trieu of The New School tried his best to cut the deficit with 12 second half points but Joshua Been's rebounding prowess (22 total rebounds) limited any second chance opportunities for the Narwhal's.  For the game, Hicks finished with 14 points in his freshman debut. Randy Bautista finished with 8 points in his freshman debut as well.  In total there were ten Mad Titans that entered the scorebook in victory.

Up next for the Mad Titans will be a road trip to Poughkeepsie, NY as they face NJCAA Region XV opponent the Dutchess Falcons this Saturday (11/16) at 2pm.  Also, continue to follow the ASA Manhattan Mad Titans on Twitter, Instagram and at www.ASAMadTitans.com for all information Mad Titans.
